Mountain Vista Medical Center is a 178-bed, state-of-the-art hospital located in east Mesa, Arizona, offering comprehensive health care services, including emergency care, heart care, advanced surgical procedures, orthopedics, breast care, maternity care, and women’s services.

Position Summary:

The Critical care/ICU Pharmacist is responsible for all aspects of the medication use system in a designated clinical area. This encompasses daily monitoring, assessment and recommendations for pharmacotherapy, interdisciplinary patient care, and education to patients and team members. The specialist serves as the subject matter experts in their designated area, collaborating with pharmacy, medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate pharmaceutical care. Specialist must have strong interpersonal skills. It is expected specialists will participate in the in the training and education of healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and medical staff. Specialists are expected to work independently, under general supervision, and within the limits of established pharmacy policies and procedures and guidance from the Pharmacy Clinical Manager and Pharmacy Director.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate of college of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE or equivalent.
• PharmD
• Arizona State Pharmacist License in good standing
• BLS
• ACLS
• BCPS or BCCCP (or must be willing to obtain)

Preferred:

• PGY2 in Critical Care/Emergency Medicine OR at least 3 years of critical care experience.
• Prior hospital experience
• Experience with Pyxis, Meditech and Microsoft Suite
